Treatment we offer
In many cases after your assessment appointment, we will help you access a mental health service in your local area. They can help with the problems you are experiencing.
However, we also offer specialist treatment for mental health difficulties including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) if local services are not available or not suitable for you.
The treatments we use include trauma-focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Both treatments are recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) as the most effective ways of reducing PTSD symptoms. We also offer regular courses in symptom management to help prepare for this first phase of treatment.
A key part of our role is to provide an overall care management service for veterans and their families. There are many options available to you when first beginning to engage with treatment and we can help you plan the best way forward and choose which services are best suited to your needs. During this phase we will work closely with you, your family and service providers to make the best possible links to help manage you into ongoing treatment and support.
